Less rebuilding. More reviewing.
Most hotel finance teams we talk to lose days every month to the same manual work: matching deposits, assembling owner packages, retyping flash numbers, and rebuilding the books from scratch at tax time.
None of that work makes a property more profitable. It just keeps the lights on in the back office. So in September, we shipped a set of updates aimed squarely at it.
Here’s what’s new in Docyt – and what each release takes off your team’s plate.
Introducing Tax Center
Tax-ready books, straight from the ledger you already close
Tax season shouldn’t mean exports, spreadsheets, and a week of back-and-forth with your CPA. Docyt’s new Tax Center creates a separate set of tax books for each year, carried over from the Docyt books you already close and tied out before anyone touches a number.
From there, Docyt does the heavy lifting:
- Accrual-to-cash conversion, drafted for you. No more rebuilding the year on a different basis by hand.
- Tax adjustments kept separate. Depreciation, non-deductible meals, and other adjustments live in the tax books – never in your operating books.
- Book-to-tax reconciliation, ready for the return. Docyt produces tax-basis statements with a reconciliation your preparer can work from directly.
- A login for your tax accountant. Your CPA works in the same tax books instead of waiting on file transfers.
- Filed years lock. Once a return is filed, that year is locked so nothing changes after the fact.
Why it matters: Your operating books stay clean, your CPA gets what they need without a single export, and last year’s numbers stay exactly as filed. Explore Tax Center→
Faster Month-End Close
Cash deposits that match themselves
Docyt AI now pairs each bank deposit with the collection days that add up to it, to the cent. Your finance team reviews and approves the pairing – and nothing posts without sign-off.
Why it matters: Cash still in transit at month-end carries forward cleanly, and nobody spends the first week of close hunting for which days made up which deposit.
Consolidated reports that stop double-counting
For owners with multiple properties, transfers between those properties no longer inflate the combined P&L and Balance Sheet. Docyt automatically eliminates intercompany activity and verifies that intercompany balances match at month-end.
Why it matters: A consolidated view you can hand to an owner without first doing side-by-side comparisons in a spreadsheet.
Docyt AI shows its work
Docyt AI now shows the rules it has learned from each property’s history. Your team can see exactly why a transaction was categorized the way it was – and turn off any rule they disagree with.
Why it matters: AI categorization you can audit and control, not a black box.
Hotel Reporting Owners and GMs Can Trust
A complete owner’s package in one report
The Owner’s Operating Statement and every departmental schedule now come together in a single report, presented in order and exportable as one Excel or PDF file.
Why it matters: No more assembling the monthly management package by hand, schedule by schedule.
Always know how current the numbers are
Every management report now displays the date and time its data was last updated.
Why it matters: Owners and operators never have to guess whether they’re looking at this morning’s figures or last week’s.
A fuller Daily Revenue Flash
The Daily Revenue Flash email, delivered every morning, now reports Food & Beverage and Other Revenue alongside Rooms Revenue.
Why it matters: GMs and owners see each property’s full revenue picture before the day starts – not just rooms.
Business Planning in One Place
One planning menu for budget, forecast, and more
Budget, Forecast, Rooms Forecast, and executive summaries now live together under a single Planning menu. Change one driver, and it flows through to both your budget and your forecast.
Why it matters: No more updating the same assumption in two places – or discovering at review time that budget and forecast disagree.
Revenue Management
Market segmentation reports: rate codes that map themselves
Docyt now reads a property’s segmentation report and proposes a market segment for every rate code.
Why it matters: Setting up segment reporting takes minutes instead of a manual mapping exercise.
Smarter Bill Pay
Bill Pay built for hotel management groups
Docyt clients can now create invoices for every property in their management group in one bulk upload, rather than entering them property by property. Each invoice still follows its property’s standard approval process.
Trusted vendors skip the line
Invoices from designated trusted vendors can move directly to Ready to Pay once verified, cutting time spent in the approval queue.
Choose your ACH speed
When issuing payment, choose Standard or Next-day ACH for each bill, with the fee and expected arrival date shown before the payment is sent.
Why it matters: Less data entry across the portfolio, a shorter approval queue, and no surprises on payment timing or cost.
New Integrations
More of your stack, connected
Marriott On-The-Books reservation data and ParkingBOXX parking revenue now flow into Docyt automatically, alongside the rest of each property’s revenue. See All Integrations→
See it across your portfolio
Every release this month removes a task that used to live in a spreadsheet: the tax-basis rebuild, the deposit hunt, the intercompany cleanup, the hand-assembled owner’s package.
That’s the difference between accounting software stretched to fit hotels and a platform built for multi-property portfolios from day one. Would 20 minutes be worth it to see how this could work across your properties? Book a Demo Today→
