High Precision Accounting Intelligence (HpAI)
Architecture behind Docyt

Docyt HpAI is purpose-built and trained specifically on accounting and finance workflows, not bolted onto a general-purpose model. It is the architecture behind Docyt's AI agents for accounting.

Two kinds of AI

Precision where it must be right. Generative where it must be fast.

Most failed AI projects in finance used the wrong kind of AI for the job. HpAI separates them deliberately.

Precision AI

Purpose-built models for categorization, document matching, revenue mapping and reconciliation. Deterministic: the same inputs produce the same books every time. Trained on accounting data from thousands of real businesses across 15+ industries, never on the open internet.

  • Transaction and invoice coding with confidence scores
  • Receipt, invoice and statement matching
  • PMS and POS revenue mapping to USALI
  • Bank, card and balance-sheet reconciliation

Predictive and generative AI

Models that forecast, detect anomalies and converse. They surface what a controller should look at and answer questions in plain language, always with the evidence attached and never with write access to the ledger on their own.

  • Anomaly and fraud detection
  • Budget and forecast drivers
  • Variance explanations
  • Ask Docyt AI conversational copilot

Human in the loop

In-house accountants and secure data labelers, not a crowd.

When a model is not confident, it does not guess. It escalates to Docyt's own accounting team, who resolve the exception, and that verified outcome feeds back into the models. Labeling happens in a secure, access-controlled environment staffed by Docyt employees.

  • Exceptions reviewed by trained accountants, not generic annotators
  • Verified outcomes continuously improve precision for your business
  • Data never leaves Docyt's controlled environment for labeling
  • Customers can set stricter review policies per workflow

Explainable by default

Every entry can explain itself.

Auditors, lenders and franchisors do not accept 'the AI did it'. Docyt attaches the source document, the rule or model decision, the confidence score and the reviewer to every entry, so any number can be traced in seconds.

Source

The invoice, statement line, PMS report or receipt that started it.

Decision

What the agent did and why, in plain language, with the confidence it had.

Review

Whether a human looked at it, who, and what changed.

Result

The ledger entry, its effect on the P&L and balance sheet, and the reconciliation it belongs to.

Complete AI stack

Four layers. One system. Built to scale.

Accounting + BI workflows

Money-out, money-in, reconciliation, close and reporting workflows that the agents execute inside policy.

System of execution

AI agents do the accounting in real time, connected to your bank feeds, PMS, POS, and payroll systems.

System of intelligence

Docyt HpAI: precision, predictive and generative models, confidence scoring and the human review loop.

System of record

Docyt's multi-entity general ledger, documents vault and vendor, customer and employee masters.

Trust

Built for the people who sign the financials.

SOC 2 Type II

Independently audited controls over security, availability and confidentiality.

Encryption and access

Encrypted in transit and at rest, SSO, role-based permissions, segregation of duties.

Full audit log

Every read and write is logged. Nothing is deleted; corrections are new entries.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does HpAI stand for?

High-precision AI. It is the name of Docyt's system of intelligence: the combination of deterministic precision models, predictive and generative models, human review and an evidence trail that together produce accounting-grade accuracy.

Why not just use a large language model?

General-purpose language models are excellent at drafting and summarizing and poor at being right 100 percent of the time. A hallucinated journal entry is not a typo; it is a misstatement. Docyt uses generative AI where speed and language matter, such as answering questions, and precision models where correctness matters, such as coding, matching and reconciliation.

Who are the humans in the loop?

Docyt employs its own accountants and data specialists. They review exceptions the models escalate, verify outcomes, and label data in a secure, access-controlled environment. No crowd-sourced labeling, no offshore data brokers.

Is my data used to train models for other companies?

Your documents and transactions are used to run your books and improve your own results. Docyt does not send your data to public models for training, and customer data is segregated and encrypted.

How do you measure accuracy?

Every agent decision carries a confidence score. Docyt tracks verification outcomes per workflow and per customer, and uses them to tune thresholds. Customers see the accuracy of their own books in the product.
