Docyt was founded in Silicon Valley to do one thing: run the back office of real world businesses on AI. Not a prettier dashboard on top of a legacy ledger, and not an accounting startup for software companies. A system that reads the night audit and the cash drawer, pays the vendors, closes the books every day, and tells the owner what to do about it. Docyt started as an automated bookkeeping platform and grew into accounting automation software for the whole back office.
The thesis
Every AI accounting company is built for software companies. We are building for everyone else.
The businesses that make up most of the economy have physical locations, daily cash, card terminals, deposits that arrive short, channel commissions, field spend, and thin margins that are won or lost operationally. Their revenue arrives through a property management system or a point of sale, not a Stripe webhook. Their general ledger has to understand USALI, tips, franchise fees and twelve LLCs. Nobody built an AI-native system for them. Docyt did.
Operations to ledger
Docyt reads the PMS, the POS and the payroll system every night and reconciles them to the bank. No other AI-native ERP can show a hotel night audit reconciled by an agent.
